Legalnotices
Last updated: August 27, 2026
1. Who we are
Interlinked Files is operated from Singapore. General enquiries, privacy requests and legal notices all reach us at [email protected].
2. Copyright agent
Notices of claimed copyright infringement, including notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, go to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent, Interlinked Files
Put “Copyright notice” in the subject line so it is not missed.
3. What a notice has to contain
A notice that is missing any of these cannot be acted on, so it is worth checking before you send it. Include:
- your physical or electronic signature
- identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed
- the share link complained of, in full, and enough detail to locate the material within it
- your address, telephone number and email address
- a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing carries liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. 512(f). Please do not use this route for a dispute that is really about something else.
4. What happens next
A link that is the subject of a valid notice is taken down. It stops serving and answers 410 Gone, so anyone holding it can tell it was removed rather than merely broken. Taking a link down does not touch the owner's files on their own machine: Interlinked runs locally, and the hosted copy is a copy.
We tell the account holder what was removed and why, and repeat infringement is grounds for ending an account's hosting.
5. Counter-notices
If your link was taken down and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address. It needs your signature, identification of the material and where it was, your address, telephone number and email address, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of a court where you live (or, if you are outside the United States, of a court where we may be found).
6. Other legal notices
Law enforcement requests, court orders and other formal legal process should go to the same address, marked clearly. Section 5.4 of the Privacy Policy describes the narrow circumstances in which anyone at Interlinked accesses hosted content, and valid legal process is one of them.
Purchases are sold through Link, with Stripe as the seller of record, so notices about a payment, a tax invoice or a refund are matters for Stripe rather than for us. See Section 6 of the Terms of Service.
